The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,130,657 with the global confirmed cases reaching 99,245,800 as of 7:30 pm BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 7:30 pm BJT, January 25):

India's COVID-19 tally rose to 10,667,736 on Monday, as 13,203 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, according to the latest data from the federal health ministry.

Russia registered 19,290 more COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the first time since Nov. 11 that the daily increase was below 20,000, the country's COVID-19 response center said Monday.

Turkey received on Monday 6.5 million more doses of COVID-19 vaccines produced by the Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac.

Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced Sunday on Twitter that he has tested positive for COVID-19. The president tweeted that at the moment, he is experiencing "mild symptoms" and currently undergoing treatment.

Iran's health ministry reported 6,309 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, raising the total nationwide number to 1,379,286.
