The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,170,237 with the global confirmed cases reaching 100,739,720 as of 9:00 am BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 428,654 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 25,580,995, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:00 am BJT on Thursday.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,689,527. The death toll grew to 153,724.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,933,356. The death toll grew to 218,878.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 3,733,692 with 69,971 deaths.
It is followed by UK with 3,725,636 infections and 102,085 deaths, France with 3,165,414 infections and 74,600 deaths, Spain with 2,670,102 cases and 57,291 deaths, Italy with 2,501,147 cases and 86,889 deaths and Turkey with 2,449,839 cases and 25,476 deaths.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,179,679 with 54,498 deaths.
