The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,884,885 with the global confirmed cases reaching 87,300,343 as of 6:30 pm BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 361,297 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 21,305,035 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 6:30 pm BJT on Thursday.

India has confirmed a total of 10,395,278 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 150,336.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 7,873,830 with 198,974 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 3,297,833 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 59,628.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 2,845,265, with the number of deaths at 77,470, according to the JHU virus tracker.

France has recorded 2,763,116 confirmed cases and 66,699 deaths.

It is followed by Turkey with 22,070 deaths from 2,283,931 infections.

A total of 2,201,945 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 76,877.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 51,430 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,982,544.

Germany has reported 1,844,991 COVID-19 cases and 37,837 deaths from the virus so far.
