The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,895,814 with the global confirmed cases reaching 87,941,154 as of 8:22 am BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 364,691 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 21,538,021.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,395,278. The death toll grew to 150,336.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,961,673. The death toll grew to 200,498.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 3,297,833 with 59,628 deaths.

It is followed by UK with 2,898,034 infections and 78,632 deaths, France with 2,763,306 infections and 66,700 deaths, Turkey with 2,296,102 cases and 22,264 deaths, Italy with 2,220,361 cases and 77,291 deaths and Spain with 2,024,904 cases and 51,675 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 1,869,306 with 38,304 deaths.
