Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Wednesday, there have been 10,185,374 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 503,862 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 128,928 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,693,727 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Wednesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 1,402,041 with 59,594 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 646,929 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 9,306.

India has confirmed a total of 566,840 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 16,893.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 314,160, with the number of deaths at 43,815, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Peru has reported 285,213 COVID-19 cases and 9,677 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 279,393 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 5,688.

Spain has recorded 249,271 confirmed cases and 28,355 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,767 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 240,578.

It is followed by Iran with 10,817 deaths from 227,662 infections.
