Globally, as of 4:49 pm CEST on Sunday, there have been 12,552,765 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 561,617 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 135,174 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 3,302,194, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:34 am BJT on Monday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 1,864,681. The death toll grew to 72,100.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 849,553. The death toll grew to 22,674.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 726,036 with 11,318 deaths.

It is followed by Peru with 326,326 infections and 11,870 deaths, Chile with 315,041 cases and 6,979 deaths and Mexico with 295,268 cases and 34,730 deaths

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 291,154, with the number of deaths at 44,904, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by South Africa with 276,242 cases and 4,079 deaths and Iran with 257,303 cases and 12,829 deaths.
