Globally, as of 6:30 BJT on Wednesday, there have been 13,119,239 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 573,752 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 138,740 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 3,510,561 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Wednesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 1,926,824 with 74,133 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 936,181 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 24,309.

Russia has confirmed 738,787 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 11,597.

Peru has reported 333,867 COVID-19 cases and 12,229 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 319,493 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 7,069.

It is followed by Mexico with 36,327 deaths from 311,486 infections.

South Africa has recorded 298,292 confirmed cases and 4,346 deaths.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 292,931, with the number of deaths at 45,053, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 13,211 lives in Iran, bringing the total number of infections to 262,173.
