Globally, as of 5:01 pm CEST on Wednesday, there have been 13,150,645 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 574,464 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 137,357 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 3,495,537, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:35 am BJT on Thursday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 1,966,748. The death toll grew to 75,366.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 936,181. The death toll grew to 24,309.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 745,197 with 11,753 deaths.

It is followed by Peru with 337,751 infections and 12,417 deaths, Chile with 321,205 cases and 7,186 deaths and Mexico with 311,486 cases and 36,327 deaths

South Africa has confirmed a total number of infections to 311,049. The death toll grew to 4,453.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 293,469, with the number of deaths at 45,138, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Iran have increased to 264,561 with 13,410 deaths.
