Globally, as of 6:30 BJT on Thursday, there have been 13,338,364 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 579,319 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 139,650 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 3,580,584 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Thursday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 1,966,748 with 75,366 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 968,857 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 24,914.

Russia has confirmed 751,612 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 11,920.

Peru has reported 337,751 COVID-19 cases and 12,417 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 321,205 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 7,186.

It is followed by Mexico with 36,906 deaths from 317,635 infections.

South Africa has recorded 311,049 confirmed cases and 4,453 deaths.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 293,469, with the number of deaths at 45,138, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 13,410 lives in Iran, bringing the total number of infections to 264,561.
