Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday, there have been 13,575,158 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 584,940 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 140,637 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 3,658,486 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 2,012,151 with 76,688 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 1,003,832 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 25,602.

Russia has confirmed 758,001 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 12,106.

Peru has reported 341,586 COVID-19 cases and 12,615 deaths from the virus so far.

South Africa has recorded 324,221 confirmed cases and 4,669 deaths.

It is followed by Mexico with 37,574 deaths from 324,041 infections.

A total of 323,698 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 7,290.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 294,116, with the number of deaths at 45,204, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 13,608 lives in Iran, bringing the total number of infections to 267,061.
