Globally, as of 2:34 pm CEST on Sunday, there have been 15,785,641 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 640,016 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 146,927 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 4,232,979, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:34 am BJT on Monday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 2,419,091. The death toll grew to 87,004.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 1,385,685. The death toll grew to 32,063.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 811,073 with 13,249 deaths.

It is followed by South Africa with 445,433 infections and 6,769 deaths, Mexico with 390,516 infections and 43,680 deaths, Peru with 375,961 cases and 17,843 deaths and Chile with 345,790 cases and 9,112 deaths.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 301,020, with the number of deaths at 45,837, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Iran have increased to 291,172 with 15,700 deaths.
