Globally, as of 6 pm BJT on Monday, there have been 15,785,641 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 640,016 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 149,360 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 4,328,704 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6 pm BJT on Monday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 2,419,091 with 87,004 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 1,435,616 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 32,771.

Russia has confirmed 811,073 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 13,249.

South Africa has recorded 445,433 confirmed cases and 6,769 deaths.

It is followed by Mexico with 43,680 deaths from 390,516 infections.

Peru has reported 375,961 COVID-19 cases and 17,843 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 345,790 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 9,112.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 301,020, with the number of deaths at 45,837, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 15,700 lives in Iran, bringing the total number of infections to 291,172.
