The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 130,306 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 2,938,624, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:33 pm BJT on Tuesday.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 1,623,284. The death toll grew to 65,487.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 719,664. The death toll grew to 20,159.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 686,852 with 10,280 deaths.
It is followed by Peru with 305,703 infections and 10,772 deaths and Chile with 298,557 cases and 6,384 deaths.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 287,291, with the number of deaths at 44,321, according to the JHU virus tracker.
