The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,546,659 with the global confirmed cases reaching 170,580,362 as of 10:00 am BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 594,568 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,264,380 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 28,047,534 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 329,100.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 16,545,554 with 462,791 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,728,788 confirmed cases and 109,690 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,249,404 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 47,527.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 119,464 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,013,512.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,503,224, with the number of deaths at 128,044, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,217,821 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 126,128.

It is followed by Argentina with 78,093 deaths from 3,781,784 infections.

Germany has reported 3,689,921 COVID-19 cases and 88,492 deaths from the virus so far.
