Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Wednesday, there have been 7,127,753 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 407,159 deaths, reported the WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed 113,812 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,025,784 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Wednesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 739,503 with 38,406 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 493,023 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 6,350.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 290,581, with the number of deaths at 40,680, according to the JHU virus tracker.

India has confirmed a total of 276,583 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 7,745.

Spain has recorded 241,966 confirmed cases and 27,136 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,043 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 235,561.

Peru has reported 199,696 COVID-19 cases and 5,571 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 191,523 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 29,299.

It is followed by Germany with 8,748 deaths from 186,522 infections.
