Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Thursday, there have been 7,255,960 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 412,583 deaths, reported the WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed 114,748 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,046,789 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Thursday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 772,416 with 39,680 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 501,800 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 6,522.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 291,588, with the number of deaths at 41,213, according to the JHU virus tracker.

India has reported 286,576 COVID-19 cases and 8,102 deaths from the virus so far.

Spain has recorded 242,280 confirmed cases and 27,136 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,114 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 235,763.

Peru has confirmed a total of 208,823 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 5,903.

A total of 192,068 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 29,322.

It is followed by Germany with 8,768 deaths from 186,525 infections.
