Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday, there have been 7,390,702 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 417,731 deaths, reported the WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed 115,644 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,069,726 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 802,828 with 40,919 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 510,761 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 6,705.

India has confirmed a total of 297,535 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 8,498.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 292,860, with the number of deaths at 41,364, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Spain has recorded 242,707 confirmed cases and 27,136 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,167 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 236,142.

Peru has reported 214,788 COVID-19 cases and 6,088 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 192,493 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 29,349.

It is followed by Germany with 8,776 deaths from 186,883 infections.
