The latest: COVID-19 outbreak worldwide (Updated June 12)

The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,785,924 with the global confirmed cases reaching 175,302,658 as of 7:00 pm BJT on Saturday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 7:00 pm BJT, June 12):

The outbreak has now claimed 599,180 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,437,749 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 29,359,155 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 367,081.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 17,296,118 with 484,235 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,795,487 confirmed cases and 110,506 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,319,359 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 48,593.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 123,961 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,133,938.

The UK'sconfirmedcases have increased to 4,566,893, with the number of deaths at 128,148, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,241,760 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 126,924.

It is followed by Argentina with 84,628 deaths from 4,093,090 infections.

Spain has reported 3,733,600 COVID-19 cases and 80,501 deaths from the virus so far.
