The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,799,649 with the global confirmed cases reaching 175,878,310 as of 10:00 am BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 599,768 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,461,575 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 29,439,989 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 370,384.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 17,412,766 with 487,401 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,802,314 confirmed cases and 110,553 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,330,447 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 48,721.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 124,314 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,148,499.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,581,766, with the number of deaths at 128,168, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,244,872 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 127,002.

Argentina has reported 4,124,190 COVID-19 cases and 85,343 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Colombia with 95,778 deaths from 3,753,224 infections.
