Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Tuesday, there have been 8,015,053 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 436,322 deaths, reported the Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 117,966 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,161,525 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Tuesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 888,271 with 43,959 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 536,484 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 7,081.

India has confirmed a total of 332,424 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 9,520.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 298,315, with the number of deaths at 41,821, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Spain has recorded 244,109 confirmed cases and 27,136 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,371 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 237,290.

Peru has reported 232,992 COVID-19 cases and 6,860 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 194,305 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 29,439.

It is followed by Iran with 8,950 deaths from 189,876 infections.
