Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Wednesday, there have been 8,153,241 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 441,439 deaths, reported the Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 118,862 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,185,917 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Wednesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 923,189 with 45,241 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 544,725 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 7,274.

India has reported 343,091 COVID-19 cases and 9,900 deaths from the virus so far.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 299,600, with the number of deaths at 42,054, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Spain has recorded 244,328 confirmed cases and 27,136 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,405 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 237,500.

Peru has confirmed a total of 237,156 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 7,056.

A total of 194,347 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 29,550.

It is followed by Iran with 9,065 deaths from 192,439 infections.
