Globally, as of 11 am BJT on Thursday, there have been 8,331,135 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 448,504 deaths, reported the Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 119,633 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,212,415 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 11 am BJT onThursday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 955,377 with 46,510 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 552,549 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 7,468.

India has reported 354,065 COVID-19 cases and 11,903 deaths from the virus so far.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 300,717, with the number of deaths at 42,238, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Spain has recorded 244,683 confirmed cases and 27,136 deaths.

Peru has confirmed a total of 240,908 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 7,257.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,448 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 237,828.

A total of 220,628 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 3,615.

It is followed by Iran with 9,185 deaths from 195,051 infections.
