The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,860,720 with the global confirmed cases reaching 178,230,119 as of 7:00 pm BJT on Sunday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 7:00 pm BJT, June 20):

The outbreak has now claimed 601,741 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,538,037 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 29,881,772 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 386,708.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 17,883,750 with 500,800 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,817,273 confirmed cases and 110,886 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,365,208 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 49,122.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 127,206 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,255,214.

The UK's confirmedcases have increased to 4,636,991, with the number of deaths at 128,234, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Argentina with 88,742 deaths from 4,258,394 infections.

A total of 4,252,095 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 127,253.

Colombia has reported 3,917,348 COVID-19 cases and 99,335 deaths from the virus so far.
