The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,864,419 with the global confirmed cases reaching 178,424,674 as of 10:00 am BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 601,826 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,541,849 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 29,881,772 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 386,708.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 17,927,928 with 501,825 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,819,088 confirmed cases and 110,900 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,370,299 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 49,185.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 127,206 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,255,214.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,646,067, with the number of deaths at 128,240, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,268,789 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 89,043.

Italy has reported 4,252,976 COVID-19 cases and 127,270 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Colombia with 99,934 deaths from 3,945,166 infections.
