The latest: COVID-19 outbreak worldwide (Updated June 21)

The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,867,050 with the global confirmed cases reaching 178,528,742 as of 8:00 pm BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 8:00 pm BJT, June 21):

The outbreak has now claimed 601,825 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,542,382 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 29,935,221 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 388,135.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 17,927,928 with 501,825 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,819,088 confirmed cases and 110,900 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,370,299 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 49,185.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 127,641 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,272,328.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,646,068, with the number of deaths at 128,240, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Argentina with 89,043 deaths from 4,268,789 infections.

A total of 4,252,976 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 127,270.

Colombia has reported 3,945,166 COVID-19 cases and 99,934 deaths from the virus so far.
