Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Monday, there have been 8,807,398 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 464,483 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 121,928 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 2,331,809 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Tuesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 1,083,341 with 50,591 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 591,465 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 8,196.

India has confirmed a total of 425,282 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 13,699.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 305,803, with the number of deaths at 42,717, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Peru has reported 251,338 COVID-19 cases and 7,861 deaths from the virus so far.

Spain has recorded 246,272 confirmed cases and 28,323 deaths.

A total of 242,355 people in Chile have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 4,479.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,634 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 238,499.

It is followed by Iran with 9,623 deaths from 204,952 infections.
