The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,873,985 with the global confirmed cases reaching 178,811,887 as of 7:00 pm BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 7:00 pm BJT, June 22):

The outbreak has now claimed 602,092 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,554,339 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 29,977,861 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 389,302.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 17,966,831 with 502,586 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,819,584 confirmed cases and 110,940 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,375,593 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 49,236.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 128,180 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,288,766.

The UK's confirmedcases have increased to 4,656,536, with the number of deaths at 128,245, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Argentina with 89,490 deaths from 4,277,395 infections.

A total of 4,253,460 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 127,291.

Colombia has reported 3,968,405 COVID-19 cases and 100,582 deaths from the virus so far.
