The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,883,429 with the global confirmed cases reaching 179,194,672 as of 6:00 pm BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 6:00 pm BJT, June 23):
The outbreak has now claimed 602,462 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,565,294 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 30,028,709 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 390,660.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 18,054,653 with 504,717 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,821,797 confirmed cases and 110,991 deaths.
Turkey has confirmed 5,381,736 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 49,293.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 128,719 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 5,306,069.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,668,043, with the number of deaths at 128,272, according to the JHU virus tracker.
It is followed by Argentina with 90,281 deaths from 4,298,782 infections.
A total of 4,254,294 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 127,322.
Colombia has reported 3,997,021 COVID-19 cases and 101,302 deaths from the virus so far.
