The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,915,552 with the global confirmed cases reaching 180,720,199 as of 10:30 am BJT on Sunday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Brazil registered 1,593 more deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 512,735, the health ministry said Saturday.

Argentina has registered 18,555 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 4,393,142, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.

Peru has registered the fourth case of the Delta variant of COVID-19, Health Minister Oscar Ugarte reported on Saturday.

Tunisian Health Ministry on Saturday reported 4,664 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total infections in the country to 403,493.

Ecuador reported 1,128 new COVID-19 infections and 33 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to 453,362 and death toll to 15,860, the Ministry of Public Health said Saturday.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Israel rose to 1,147 on Saturday, the highest since May 5, according to the health ministry.

Turkey on Saturday confirmed 5,266 new COVID-19 cases, including 470 symptomatic ones, raising the total number in the country to 5,404,144, according to its health ministry.
