The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 125,480 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 2,507,874, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:33 am BJT on Sunday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 1,313,667. The death toll grew to 57,070.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 626,779 with 8,958 deaths.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 508,953. The death toll grew to 15,685.

Another 100 COVID-19 patients have died in Britain as of Friday afternoon, bringing the total coronavirus-related death toll in the country to 43,414, the British Department of Health and Social Care said Saturday. As of Saturday morning, 310,250 people have tested positive for the disease in Britain, a daily increase of 890, according to the department.

It is followed by Peru with 275,989 infections and 9,135 deaths, Chile with 267,766 cases and 5,347 deaths, Spain with 248,469 cases and 28,341 deaths, Italy with 240,136 cases and 34,716 deaths and Iran with 220,180 cases and 10,364 deaths.
