The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,692,586 with the global confirmed cases reaching 171,711,450 as of 7 pm BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 7 pm BJT, June 3):

Russia registered 8,933 new coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 5,099,182, said the official monitoring and response center on Thursday.

The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday 7,217 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Southeast Asian country, bringing the total tally to 1,247,899.

India's federal government has finalised arrangements with Hyderabad-based vaccine manufacturer, Biological-E, to reserve 300 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, officials said Thursday.

Pakistan's COVID-19 related death toll rose to 21,022 with 92 more deaths from the pandemic recorded on Wednesday, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Thursday.

Mongolia reported 1,024 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 61,396, the country's health ministry said Thursday.

Thailand on Thursday reported 3,886 new COVID-19 cases and 39 additional deaths, as the country struggled to fight against its worst outbreak since the start of the pandemic.
