The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,640,657 with the global confirmed cases reaching 119,115,504 as of 5:30 pm BJT on Saturday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 5:30 pm BJT, Mar 13):

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 532,590 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 29,347,339.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 11,363,380. The death toll grew to 275,105.

India has reported a total number of infections to 11,333,728. The death toll grew to 158,446.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 4,331,396 with 90,169 deaths.

It is followed by UK with 4,261,398 infections and 125,579 deaths, France with 4,075,735 infections and 90,207 deaths, Spain with 3,183,704 infections and 72,258 deaths, Italy with 3,175,807 infections and 101,564 deaths and Turkey with 2,850,930 infections and 29,356 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,559,935 with 73,349 deaths.
