The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,653,180 with the global confirmed cases reaching 119,830,783 as of 8:30 am BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Lebanon registered on Sunday 3,086 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 418,448.

Local COVID-19 infections increased by 1,905 over the past 24 hours to reach 1,000,394, Russia's COVID-19 response center said on Sunday.

After being among the world's hardest-hit nations with COVID-19, Chile is now near the top among countries at vaccinating its population against the virus.

Jordan on Sunday reported 8,053 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the total cases to 477,053 in the country.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health reported on Sunday 3,866 new COVID-19 cases, bringing Iraq's total nationwide infections to 758,184.
