The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,692,244 with the global confirmed cases reaching 121,848,070 as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 539,698 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 29,667,305 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 11,780,820 with 287,499 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
India has confirmed a total of 11,514,331 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 159,370.
Russia has confirmed 4,388,268 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 92,704 .
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,294,328, with the number of deaths at 126,163, according to the JHU virus tracker.
France has recorded 4,241,973 confirmed cases and 91,833 deaths.
A total of 3,306,711 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 103,855.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 72,910 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 3,212,332.
It is followed by Turkey with 29,777 deaths from 2,950,603 infections.
Germany has reported 2,639,258 COVID-19 cases and 74,402 deaths from the virus so far.
