The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,801,773 with the global confirmed cases reaching 128,120,144 as of 10:00 am BJT on Wednesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 550,951 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 30,391,227 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10:00 am BJT on Wednesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 12,658,109 with 317,646 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 12,095,855 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 162,114.

France has recorded 4,646,014 confirmed cases and 95,495 deaths.

Russia has confirmed 4,486,078 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 96,817.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,355,845, with the number of deaths at 126,912, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 3,561,012 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 108,879.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 31,385 lives in Turkey, bringing the total number of infections to 3,277,880.

It is followed by Spain with 75,305 deaths from 3,275,819 infections.

Germany has reported 2,808,206 COVID-19 cases and 76,229 deaths from the virus so far.
