The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,288,638 with the global confirmed cases reaching 157,946,278 as of 10:00 am BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 581,752 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 32,707,359 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10:00 am BJT on Monday.

India has confirmed a total of 22,296,414 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 242,362.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 15,184,790 with 422,340 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,838,294 confirmed cases and 106,553 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,031,332 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 43,029.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 111,425 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,824,621.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,450,578, with the number of deaths at 127,865, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,111,210 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 122,833.

It is followed by Spain with 78,792 deaths from 3,567,408 infections.

Germany has reported 3,530,887 COVID-19 cases and 84,796 deaths from the virus so far.
