Globally, as of 6 pm BJT on Sunday, there have been 4,494,873 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 305,976 deaths, reported the WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed 89,563 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 1,500,670 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6 pm BJT on Sunday.

Russia has confirmed 281,752 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 2,631.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 241,461, with the number of deaths at 34,546, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 233,511 with 15,662 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Spain has recorded 231,350 confirmed cases and 27,650 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 31,763 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 224,760.

A total of 179,630 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 27,532.

It is followed by Germany with 7,947 deaths from 176,244 infections.

Turkey has confirmed a total of 148,067 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 4,096.

Iran has reported 120,198 COVID-19 cases and 6,988 deaths from the virus so far.
