The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,431,054 with the global confirmed cases reaching 165,558,841 as of 5:30 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 588,539 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,056,860 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 26,031,991 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 291,331.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 15,894,094 with 444,094 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,979,099 confirmed cases and 108,343 deaths.
Turkey has confirmed 5,160,423 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 45,626.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 115,393 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,917,906.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,471,065, with the number of deaths at 127,963, according to the JHU virus tracker.
A total of 4,178,261 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 124,810.
Germany has reported 3,640,687 COVID-19 cases and 87,144 deaths from the virus so far.
It is followed by Spain with 79,601 deaths from 3,631,661 infections.
