The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,444,358 with the global confirmed cases reaching 166,184,500 as of 7:00 pm BJT on Saturday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 589,223 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,085,210 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 26,289,290 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 295,525.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 15,970,949 with 446,309 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,979,369 confirmed cases and 108,343 deaths.
Turkey has confirmed 5,169,951 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 45,840.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 116,144 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,935,302.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,473,773, with the number of deaths at 127,972, according to the JHU virus tracker.
A total of 4,183,476 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 125,028.
Germany has reported 3,651,343 COVID-19 cases and 87,305 deaths from the virus so far.
It is followed by Spain with 79,620 deaths from 3,636,453 infections.
