Globally, as of 7 pm BJT on Sunday, there have been 5,165,481 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 336,430 deaths, reported the WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed 97,566 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 1,660,568 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 7 pm BJT on Sunday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 347,398 with 22,013 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 344,481 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 3,541.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 258,509, with the number of deaths at 36,757, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Spain has recorded 235,290 confirmed cases and 28,678 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 32,735 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 229,327.

A total of 182,036 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 28,218.

It is followed by Germany with 8,274 deaths from 179,986 infections.

Turkey has confirmed a total of 155,686 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 4,308.

Iran has reported 135,701 COVID-19 cases and 7,417 deaths from the virus so far.
