Globally, as of 7:07pm CEST on Sunday, there have been 5,206,614 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 337,736 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 97,698 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 1,642,021, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 7:32 pm BJT on Monday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 363,211 with 22,666 deaths.

Russia has confirmed a total number of infections to 344,481. The death toll grew to 3,541.

Another 118 COVID-19 patients have died in the UK as of Saturday afternoon, bringing the total coronavirus-related death toll in the country to 36,793, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Sunday. 260,916 people across the country have tested positive for the disease, said Johns Hopkins University.

It is followed by Spain with 235,772 infections and 28,752 deaths, Italy with 229,858 cases and 32,785 deaths, France with 182,709 cases and 28,370 fatalities and Germany with 180,328 infections and 8,283 deaths.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Turkey, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East, increased to 156,827 after 1,141 new infections were reported, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca tweeted. The death toll from the coronavirus in the country rose to 4,340 after 32 new fatalities were added in the past 24 hours, he said.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 138,536. The death toll grew to 4,024.
