The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,474,911 with the global confirmed cases reaching 167,357,758 as of 7:00 pm BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 590,574 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,144,099 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 26,948,874 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 307,231.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 16,120,756 with 449,858 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,667,331 confirmed cases and 108,819 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,194,010 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 46,446.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 117,197 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,960,174.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,480,760, with the number of deaths at 127,986, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,194,672 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 125,335.

Germany has reported 3,660,741 COVID-19 cases and 87,462 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Spain with 79,711 deaths from 3,647,520 infections.
