The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,499,710 with the global confirmed cases reaching 168,462,786 as of 6:30 pm BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 591,957 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 33,191,141 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 27,369,093 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 315,235.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 16,274,695 with 454,429 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,683,143 confirmed cases and 109,185 deaths.
Turkey has confirmed 5,212,123 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 46,787.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 117,990 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,977,332.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,486,168, with the number of deaths at 128,010, according to the JHU virus tracker.
A total of 4,201,827 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 125,622.
Germany has reported 3,669,739 COVID-19 cases and 88,000 deaths from the virus so far.
It is followed by Spain with 79,855 deaths from 3,657,886 infections.
