The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,198,313 with the global confirmed cases reaching 152,474,036 as of 9:00 am BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

A complete seven-day complete lockdown has been imposed in India's northern state of Haryana with effect from May 3 to curb the rising graph of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced the state's health minister Ani Vij on Sunday.

Canada reported 7,145 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, bringing the cumulative total to 1,234,181 cases, including 24,300 deaths, according to CTV.

Another 1,671 people in Britain have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 4,420,201, according to official figures released Sunday.

Iran on Sunday reported 18,698 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country's total infections to 2,534,855.

The Chilean Ministry of Health reported 6,122 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total to 1,210,920, and registered 104 more deaths, bringing the death toll to 26,561.

Tunisian Health Ministry on Sunday reported 1,009 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections in the country to 311,743.

Cuba once again surpassed a thousand daily cases of COVID-19, reporting 1,071 infections and 10 deaths, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Sunday.
