The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,203,199 with the global confirmed cases reaching 152,887,695 as of 5:30 pm BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

The outbreak has now claimed 577,045 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 32,421,713 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 19,925,517 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 218,959.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 14,754,910 with 407,639 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,713,393 confirmed cases and 104,980 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 40,844 lives in Turkey, bringing the total number of infections to 4,875,388.

Russia has confirmed 4,776,844 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 109,341.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,435,831 with the number of deaths at 127,796, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,044,762 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 121,177.

It is followed by Spain with 78,216 deaths from 3,524,077 infections.

Germany has reported 3,432,676 COVID-19 cases and 83,292 deaths from the virus so far.
