The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,214,426 with the global confirmed cases reaching 153,572,166 as of 5:00 pm BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

The outbreak has now claimed 577,523 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 32,471,762 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 20,282,833 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 222,408.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 14,779,529 with 408,622 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,717,160 confirmed cases and 105,291 deaths.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 41,191 lives in Turkey, bringing the total number of infections to 4,900,121.
Russia has confirmed 4,784,497 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 109,670.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,437,505 with the number of deaths at 127,797, according to the JHU virus tracker.
A total of 4,050,708 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 121,433.
It is followed by Spain with 78,293 deaths from 3,540,430 infections.
Germany has reported 3,439,938 COVID-19 cases and 83,609 deaths from the virus so far.
