Globally, as of 6 pm BJT on Thursday, there have been 3,634,172 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 251,446 deaths, reported the WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed at least 74,691 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 1,261,905 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6 pm BJT on Thursday.

Spain has recorded 221,447 confirmed cases and 26,070 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 29,684 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 214,457.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 202,359, with the number of deaths at 30,150, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Russia has confirmed 177,160 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 1,625.

A total of 174,224 people in France have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 25,812.

It is followed by Germany with 7,275 deaths from 168,162 infections.

Turkey has confirmed a total of 131,744 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 3,584.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 126,611 with 8,588 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Iran has reported 103,135 COVID-19 cases and 6,486 deaths from the virus so far.
