The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,256,882 with the global confirmed cases reaching 156,100,495 as of 5:00 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

The outbreak has now claimed 580,064 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 32,605,023 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 21,491,598 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 234,083.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 15,003,563 with 416,949 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,789,283 confirmed cases and 106,011 deaths.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 42,187 lives in Turkey, bringing the total number of infections to 4,977,982.
Russia has confirmed 4,799,872 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 110,366.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,444,262 with the number of deaths at 127,843, according to the JHU virus tracker.
A total of 4,082,198 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 122,263.
It is followed by Spain with 78,726 deaths from 3,559,222 infections.
Germany has reported 3,502,672 COVID-19 cases and 84,428 deaths from the virus so far.
