The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,264,720 with the global confirmed cases reaching 156,472,669 as of 10:00 am BJT on Saturday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 580,870 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 32,649,677 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10:00 am BJT on Saturday.

India has confirmed a total of 21,491,598 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 234,083.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 15,082,449 with 419,114 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,808,421 confirmed cases and 106,262 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 4,998,089 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 42,465.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 110,735 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,808,133.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,446,752, with the number of deaths at 127,858, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,092,747 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 122,470.

It is followed by Spain with 78,792 deaths from 3,567,408 infections.

Germany has reported 3,507,730 COVID-19 cases and 84,498 deaths from the virus so far.
