The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 3,278,007 with the global confirmed cases reaching 157,250,537 as of 10:00 am BJT on Sunday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 581,511 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 32,685,864 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10:00 am BJT on Sunday.

India has confirmed a total of 21,892,676 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 238,270.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 15,145,879 with 421,316 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,829,166 confirmed cases and 106,438 deaths.

Turkey has confirmed 5,016,141 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 42,746.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 111,097 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 4,816,331.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,448,808, with the number of deaths at 127,863, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 4,102,921 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 122,694.

It is followed by Spain with 78,792 deaths from 3,567,408 infections.

Germany has reported 3,520,392 COVID-19 cases and 84,668 deaths from the virus so far.
